With the Ceraton mosaic set you will make especially older students, who already have experience in laying mosaics, a great pleasure. When working with the Ceraton stones it requires a little manual skill and practice to be able to divide the 2x2cm stones with pliers. Safety glasses should be worn when doing this. With our step-by-step instructions you will get an illustrated guide to cut and lay the stones correctly. In addition to school lessons, the material is of course also suitable for workshops in museums or birthday parties.
What do I need in addition?
- safety glasses
- a pair of mosaic tongs
- cooking oil or stone wax if needed
This is how easy the set works:
- Draw the desired motif on the backing plate and pick out the matching colors.
- Divide the stones with the help of the instructions into four, six or eight pieces, depending on how detailed the motif should be! Approximately 30 stones are needed per mosaic.
- Starting with the central motif, fix the stones with a little glue on the carrier plate.
- Finally, make the border and background of the mosaic.
- The whole thing should dry for about 2 hours until you start grouting.
- Spread the creamy grout on the mosaic, spread it well in all gaps and let it dry briefly. Using a damp sponge, the excess grout should be wiped off the mosaic. This should be repeated until no more "gray haze" can be seen on the stones.
- Now let the mosaic final dry for a few hours.
TIP: The surface can be rubbed with a cooking oil or stone wax to make the colors look even better...
