Mosaics for Beginners: Helmet for Gladiators
At last you can create your own mosaics with your pupils.
With watercolours or tempera this mosaics can very quickly be colourised.
The single mosaic pieces can be recognized very well and moreover the interstices are recessed comparable to an original mosaic.
Procedure:
1. Completely prime your mosaic tile with your favoured background colour, simply mixing into a lot of water. Generally the colour of the interstices is used.
2. After having dried for a little while (about five to ten minutes), the single mosaic pieces will be designed with any desired colours, mixing the colours now less liquidly, so not covering the background colour.
3. Your own mosaic is already be finished.
Tip:
You can clean your mosaic tile with running water and paint once more, if your work has not succeeded once.
Your pupils can create their own mosaics in class completely without using tools like pliers. Thus these mosaics can be used effectively from elementary school. You will receive one blank mosaic made off white gypseous alabaster.
