The technique is very simple. All you and your little artists need are water or tempera paints. Here’s how to proceed:
- Prime the entire mosaic tile with a background color of your choice. You can choose the color in which the grout lines should appear. Simply spread it over the entire mosaic tile with plenty of water.
- After a short drying time (about 5-10 minutes), paint the individual stones of the pattern with your chosen colors. Now, mix the paint not as fluidly so the background color of the mosaic tile can be covered. Bright or plain colors–the sky’s the limit!
- Let it dry and your ancient mosaic tile is done!
